Bike Bag Making Workshop

Sundays, April 12& 19th

11:30 - 3:30

Only 6 spots available!

Join us for a hands-on workshop led by Hannah DeBoer-Smith of OG Repair, where you’ll learn how to design and sew your very own waxed canvas half frame bike bag from scratch. Over two 4-hour sessions, we’ll cover the basics of bag construction and guide you through the process step-by-step as you build your own functional, durable gear for your bike.

Whether you’re an avid cyclist, a maker curious about gear design, or just someone who loves a good DIY project, this workshop is a great way to dive into the world of bike bags with expert guidance.

What’s included:

  • Two 4-hour sessions of instruction
  • All hardware provided
  • Access to sewing machines
  • A finished waxed canvas half frame bike bag to take home
  • Small class size for lots of hands-on help

What to bring:

Come prepared with a paper pattern of your bike’s frame.

Place a piece of paper behind your bike's frame and trace the inside of the frame. Be sure to mark any cables or other bag straps. If you have any water bottles, mark the top of where your bottle(s) sits. Cut out the paper pattern and be sure it’s a snug fit. No gaps. No overlapping.

Skill level: Some sewing experience is helpful, but beginners are welcome!

$199 per person

$20 will be donated to Building Momentum. Building Momentum Bikepacking is a women, non-binary, and gender non-conforming specific organization. We aim to disrupt what it means to bikepack and offer inclusive spaces to learn about the sport. As community organizers, we bring together experts to deliver skill building workshops (like these!) and social group rides. Your donation will directly support us in continuing to design inclusive spaces in bikepacking
