Saturday, March 14th, 10:30 am - 1:30 pm

Embroidery has been used for centuries to elevate fabric. In this 3-hour class instructor Angela Schade will guide you through the practical basics of embroidery. You will learn:

  • 4 "low tech" transfer techniques so you can transfer all of those lovely patterns from embroidery books onto fabric.

  • 6 basic stitches - back stitch, chain stitch, stem stitch, lazy daisy stitch, French knots and the satin stitch. There will be a bonus stitch too!

  • How to pick the right fabric for stitching

  • how to embroider onto clothing

Embroidery is a relatively inexpensive art form that can elevate all your fabrics or stand alone as an art form. It is wonderfully portable too!

An embroidery hoop with a linen square and two skeins of embroidery thread will be provided to students. More thread will be available for sale.
